Exchange workshop for Asian Performing Arts
August 2nd - August 6th, 2006 Tokyo
Exchange workshop for Asian Performing Arts will be held from August 2nd till August 6th in Tokyo. Representative dancers from 6 Asian countries (Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Brunei, India, Cambodia, Japan) will demonstrate their dance performance in order to develop international friendship. From Uzbekistan dance company "Ofarin" will take part in this event and show their dance performance for Japanese people. This event is organized by Japan Association for Performance Art (JAPA) and The Asia/Pacific Cultural Center for UNESCO (ACCU) in cooperation with the embassies of 6 Asian countries, including the Representative Office of "Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan" Foundation in Japan.
Japan-Uzbekistan Days of Culture and Arts
July 24th - July 30th, 2006 JICA Global Plaza, Tokyo
Japan-Uzbekistan Days of Culture and Arts Tokyo, JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Global Plaza will be organized by the Representative Office in Japan of the Foundation in cooperation with Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tansei Institution and JICA in commemoration of the establishment of the representative office in Japan of "Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan" Foundation with the aim of introducing Uzbek culture and arts to Japanese wide public. At JICA Global Plaza the photo exhibition "125 years of Uzbek photography 1879-2004" and Uzbek national art and folk crafts will be displayed. And July 29th TV dialogue between JICA Global Plaza and Japan center in Tashkent will be held. From Uzbek side performance by national musical instruments and dance performance will be demonstrated for Japanese visitors to Global Plaza. Also Japanese visitors will be able to participate in quiz game about Uzbekistan and winners will be given small gifts from "The Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan" Foundation.
Opening ceremony of the Representative Office of the "Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan" Foundation in Tokyo

Opening ceremony of the Representative Office of "Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan" Foundation in Japan will be held at Imperial Hotel and Parliamentary Museum "Kensei-kinenkanモ in Tokyo July 20th and 21st. During the ceremony with participation of many respectable representatives of various spheres of Japan will be demonstrated concert of Uzbek national music with dance performance of "Bahor", joint uzbek-japan craft exhibition dedicated to Silk Road culture along with Japanese dance performance by "Aoi-ryu" folklore buyo group and taiko performance by drum-group "Gojinko-daiko" from Oshima city will presented by the Foundation. July 21st at Parliamentary Museum "Kensei-kinenkan" the photo exhibition "125 years of Uzbek photography" and special demonstration of works of famous japanese artist Mr. Ikuo Hirayama dedicated to Uzbekistan will be showed along with the presentation of a book "Sakura of Uzbekistan" written by Mrs. K. Nakayama, former ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Asian Handicraft Fair

The art festival of Asian handicraft festival with participation of Uzbekistan and Central Asian states art crafts presented in fashionable Takashimaya department stores of Tokyo and Yokohama cities. This festival demonstrates the unique culture and art of the Great Silk Road to a lot of Japanese visitors. This event was organized by Takashimaya department, embassies of participants-countries in Japan. From Uzbek side event was arranged by "Forum of culture and arts of Uzbekistan" Foundation, Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan and Trade and Exhibition Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan "UZEXPOCENTRE".
Days of culture and arts of Uzbekistan in Fukushima prefecture

Days of culture and arts of Uzbekistan in Fukushima prefecture organized in 7-15th July 2006 in commemoration of the 27th anniversary of cultural exchange between Fukushima prefecture and Uzbekistan by Fukushima - Uzbekistan Cultural and Economic Exchange Association jointly with "Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan" Foundation. During cultural days of Uzbekistan concerts of Uzbek national music with dance performance by "Bahor"- traditionally famous national dancing group will be showed in main cities of Fukushima prefecture with demonstration of art exhibition of Uzbek crafts and ceramics.
Conference "The Great Silk Road - the 21st century"

Japanese archaeologist and historian Professor K. Kato, who has been engaged in study of Buddhist remains of the Kushan era in Karatepa, the suburbs of Termez city in Uzbekistan for 30 years, leaded scientific conference entitled "The Great Silk Road - the 21st century" in Maebashi city - center of textile and silk industry in Japan. This conference was organized by Eurasia Club of Gunma prefecture, "Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan" Foundation and Maebashi city with cooperation of Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan.
The Great Silk Road and its heritage
May 20, 2006 Hakodate/Obihiro
The scaled art exhibition "The Great Silk Road and its heritage" was opened in State museum of art of Hakodate city, prefecture of Hokkaido. The organizers are: Japanese company "Curators Inc.", Ministry of culture and sport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, "Forum of culture and art of Uzbekistan" Foundation and Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan with the support of other regional organizations. The shed of light on history and culture of Great Silk Road in Central Asia as a whole and in Uzbekistan in particular, this exhibition in detail introduces the Japan visitors with invaluable cultural treasures, most of which are being exposed first time in Japan. Before that the exhibition successfully was organized in a number of Japan regions in 2005. Now the exposition is being hold in cities of Hokkaido island: from May 20 to July 9, 2006 at the museum of arts in Hakodate city and State museum of arts Obihiro city from July 15 to August 30, 2006 with the support of prefecture newspaper "The Hokkaido Simbun Press".
Concert by Japanese quartet orchestra "Excelsior" in Uzbekistan

Concert by Japanese quartet orchestra "Excelsior" in Uzbekistan was organized by the "Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan" Foundation, Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan and Japan Foundation. During Excelsior's visit they not only gave a musical performance in Uzbek-Japanese center for human resources, an academy of music named after Uspenski(RSMAL) and theater for youth, but also gave a master-class for pupils and students from Tashkent in RSMAL.
